Brian comes from a creative heritage. His father taught English Literature at a University for 30 years, his mother teaches painting and drawing at another university, and his brother works in the film industry. Brian has a bachelor's degree in painting, and a Masters of Fine Art (MFA) degree in digital media from Vermont College. The MFA degree is the highest, or 'terminal' degree in applied art, the equivalent of a PhD in arts applications.

After his first degree, Brian lived and worked in New York City as a photographer's assistant. This was an opportunity to study with some of the greatest living commercial photographers in the world. Brian was able to assist on shoots for Time, Newsweek, Life, and major corporations, and was able to work full time for legendary photographer Jay Maisel. Brian has been based in the Baltimore / Washington area for 12 years and has been a full-time freelance photographer the entire time, working for a broad range of clients, from editorial work, to corporate and commercial endeavors.Feel free to contact Brian for your next assignment.
